Act II

Around 2 AM Eva wakes up because she can't sleep. She goes outside the balcony with a glass of water and looks around the neighborhood.
'Everybody is asleep, only I can't sleep. hesitates. Maybe Johnny too.' she looks at her neighbor's house where a red light comes outside of his room.
She leans on the balcony's bars to better watch the night sky. Then she observes a sparkling crossing in front of her.
'A shooting star maybe? No. It's bigger than 3 seconds ago... ' she tries to get back but it is too late, the falling object brutally crashes in a nearby park at the edge of the city.
A blinding light forces Eva to close her eyes. A loud sound of explosion reaches her ears. After a few seconds you could hear the crickets again. Eva reopens her eyes and to her surprise. NOTHING was going on anymore. No explosion, no fire, no sign of the earlier accident.
'What just happened??'
She runs downstairs, picks up her bag and opens the front door. When she steps outside she is surprised nobody was out questioning the incident.
'It must be real. I can't go mad.' she takes her pink bike and opens the gate. No time to wait!
She calculates the route to Emera's National park using her mobile device. Turns on the flashlights and heads out. Nobody is awake which is rather strange.
Once she reaches the destination to her little to no surprise the park is closed. She sights for a second but then she starts inspecting the fence. 'It's doable.' she goes around where no video cameras are live and climbs it up.
After hitting the ground on the other side she puts on her mobile flashlight and heads over to the forest.
'If I am correct. According to the coordinates the incident happened one mile away from here.'
She starts walking. Still no sign of the incident. After a 20 minutes walk she almost gives up until she spots a laser light circling an area not too far away from her. Eva tries to get closer to the unusual blue light. It looks like a small metal bug. she watches it, hiding after a tree. The mechanic insect starts flying away and Eva doesn't seize to follow it until she finds herself into a glade. As she continues to walk forward the image of a spaceship starts forming in front of her.
She inspects the aircraft looking for some sort of entrance. After a few seconds she sees a demolished door on the side. She slowly moves in its direction sometimes looking back out of what is seems like a paranoia meanwhile someone was keeping a close eye on her every move.
'Cool.' she whispers when she sees the inside of the vehicle. she goes inside leaving her flashlight on.
'Anyone? Hello-oh??' she says with no response.
She goes to a nearby table and takes up a map. Looks at it confused then puts it back on the table. She sees a paper with a journal entry.
June 20. 2:15 AM.
Crash cause: Possible Aircraft Sabotage
Findings before the crash: Spacial Cable eaters
Status: Alive
Report: Sent to the base
A shadow figure enters the room without her noticing it meanwhile she starts inspecting a scuba diver's suit that captured her attention.
' This is high tech stuff. Amazing.' she thinks.
In an instance she feels someone grabbing her and in less than 5 seconds immobilizing her to the closest wall.
'Who are you?!' a voice rages in her ear.
'Who asks?!'
'From the police?!"
'No mister... alien. I am sorry. I didn't mean to intrude your home.'
'My...home? he lowers his voice. Say no more. he takes out a parfumed tissue and covers her nose and mouth with it. She starts fighting to escape his grip but her vision starts to get dizzy. After a few moments she faints into the stranger's arms. The man puts her down and takes the mobile out of her bag. He sits on a close chair and looks at her with a blank stare.
'I am sorry about this.' he starts browsing through her phone and stops when he sees a picture with her and Artie at the carnival. He puts her phone in his pocket and leaves the room.
The Next Day
Temple Taxos, Oxvault
Some of Eva’s activities during the weekend include
meeting up with her chamber music ansemble and practicing flute for the next big event at the local temple.
On her way home Eva calls Artie.
Artie
And there you were. he spins on his desk chair.
3VA
But how did you know where to find me?
Artie
You shared your location.
3VA
Ofcourse... if anybody else was to use my phone, you're
first on my speed dial. she check out her phone
Artie
(smiles) Glad to be considered trust worthy. Are you sure you are not sleepwalking again?
3VA
Not a chance. I saw what I saw. Believe me or not, a real life spaceship is there as we speak. a pause occurs. You still don't believe me but you will! Listen... what are you up to today? she walks pass the corner of the street.
Artie
Working until....checks his hand watch. Midnight, yep.
3VA
Ok, I'mma call you back. she suddenly ends the call and stares at the end of the street.
It's him.
The guy from yesterday.
Performing in the middle of the street to a small crowd of people.
After acting a very convincing monologue from an unknown script he turns up the stereo and starts showing off his dancing skills.
'Wow... he's talented. I'll give him that.' she thinks while multiple people approach to talk to him.
She notices the hat on the side. 'Well well...' She pays close attention to his looks. 'Who are you really, space boy?'
At the end of his next performance he bows down with grace. The crowd acclaims him with joy. Eva gets closer to him. The moment their eyes meet he nonchalantly takes his hat off the ground and starts walking away.
3VA
Wait up!!! Hey-ey!
He doesn't stop walking until she appears in front of him.
3VA
It's you, the spaceship guy. Right?
Cyrus
Nah, I don't know what you're talking about. he mumbles somewhat irritated.
3VA
But you know!
Cyrus
Go away.
3VA
No denial huh? Means I'm in the right!
Cyrus
I don't know you. he starts walking away from her.
And don't follow me!
After following him for 1 minute.
3VA
You know I will right? I mean It's not an everyday situation you see an alien, you bet I'm curious about this stuff.
(awkward silence)
He ignores her and heads downstairs to the subway station. They both get on the same metro. After a few seconds of her staring at him from a corner he starts to get pissed.
Cyrus
I know that you are there! Guuuuhd. You're so annoying. And.... he looks over his shoulder. A bad hider too.
3VA
Do I have your attention now? she approaches him with a smile.
Cyrus
Barely. he rolls his eyes over.
3VA
How about now? she starts showing off some of her dance moves.
Slowly Cyrus seems a little amused.
Cyrus
What are you doing?
3VA
Darling, dancing? Something I'm very good at. Good performance btw. I am a fan. Cool moves. Dope.
Cyrus
Dope? Whatever. Thanks.
3VA
About the other day. What you did was totally not cool.... she keeps on talking but Cyrus doesn't hear her anymore as he pays close attention to the two figures that show up after a the wagon door slowly opens.
Cyrus
Hrrr. he groans. No shit. Here?!
In less than a moment an electrified hook is thrown at them. He jumps in front of Eva to protect her and presses a button on his watch that enables a shield to stop the attack.
3VA
Holly Molly!! she screams.
Cyrus
RUuun!! he screams at her hesitance. Now you idiot!!
She tosses her way to the next wagon's door. Cyrus follows her in a hurry. They pass through several wagons until they hit a dead end. A door with a pass code.
Cyrus gets close to the lock system, looks at it for 5 seconds then starts pressing multiple buttons at once.
3VA
Stop it! You'll break it. We need the code first.
Cyrus
So we're done for! What a shame!
3VA
Shut up. I got this. she starts entering a code. I took a cyber security class last month. I can figure this one out.
3VA
Voila. the door opens almost immediately.
Cyrus
Nice. Smart move there. he stops after passing through the door.
3VA
You coming or what? she stops at the entrance to the next wagon.
Cyrus
Go on. You'll be fine. Their business is with me anyways. he spots the stairs that lead to the roof of the metro and starts climbing them.
3VA
That is way too dangerous. Let's figure out another way.
Cyrus
Not enough time. Just.. don't get the police involved, k?
See ya!
She hears them getting closer so she enters the new wagon. It is full of people, she goes to a corner, takes out her sunglasses, puts them on and pretends to be part of the crowd. Until the metro stops at the next station.
She loks out the window and sees a figure crippling at a fast pace through the crowd. 'Oh no.'
she thinks to herself as the metro now leaves the station.
